X-ray Imaging On-Site

X-rays can play an important role in evaluating the spine and may provide valuable information when they are clinically appropriate. Not every patient requires X-rays. When your history and examination indicate that imaging may be helpful, X-rays can assist in assessing spinal alignment, bone structure, and certain structural changes or previous injuries.

In some cases, imaging can provide information about changes that may have developed over time, including the effects of previous trauma or long-standing spinal concerns.

Much like a dentist may use X-rays when they need to look beyond what can be seen during an examination, spinal X-rays can provide another perspective that cannot be obtained through physical examination alone.

Chiropractic education includes specific training in diagnostic imaging, including radiation safety, positioning, image quality, X-ray interpretation, and recognition of conditions that may require further medical assessment.

At McCooey Chiropractic, X-rays are not taken automatically. They are considered as part of your overall history and examination when they may provide useful information for your care.

Your safety always comes first. If imaging reveals something outside the scope of chiropractic care, I will discuss the findings with you and recommend appropriate follow-up or referral when necessary.
